Sweden’s Andersson Throws Silver Medal Into Crowd At World Juniors

Sweden’s captain and NY Rangers prospect Lias Andersson was visually upset by coming in second in this year’s World Junior Championship in Buffalo.

Immediately after receiving his silver medal he removed it from his neck and threw it to a fan in the stands.  Clearly a huge competitor, after the game he said:

That’s how I’ve grown up. If you do not win it does not matter. We are as big losers here now as any other team.

“There was some guy on the stands who wanted it more than me. It just ends up in a box there at home anyway. I already have an exact silver medal from the U18 World Cup. I do not need two.

He clearly is a fan of Ricky Bobby:
